Windows agent containment: early preview and audit-mode limits

The news at the time

Microsoft introduced the MXC SDK as an early preview: a policy-driven execution layer for agents on Windows and WSL. An SDK announcement is not independent evidence that arbitrary agent workloads are safe.

The announcement describes multiple isolation constructs behind a shared policy model. It labels Linux-container support and MXC cloud integration as future work, so those plans should not be presented as delivered features at announcement time.

Follow-up checked during renewal

At review time, the MXC repository warns that --audit disables all sandbox security for the analyzed workload and must never be used to run untrusted code. Policy-authoring audit mode is not a containment guarantee.

What to review before applying this

Verify the actual backend, operating-system support, filesystem access and network behavior in a representative environment. This is a source-context review without sandbox-escape or containment testing.
